Fossilio-Corallium

Second year type specimen book

This specimen book is focused on the type I have created, titled 'Fossilio-Corallium'. I named the type after the Latin words for fossil, and for coral. I wanted to keep the names similar to the object, and so felt using latin was a good way to do so. I became fascinated by fossils and corals at the museum, and the beauty they all had in their unique shapes, and this is what inspired the typeface. These glyphs have a mix of both curved and straight lines, and were all derived from the shapes of the fossils and corals themselves.
