Lover’s Mime
First year zine work based around a ceramic set of swans.
04-12-2020This was one of my first projects I undertook in my first year, and still happens to be one of my favourites.
The zine itself follows a simplified colour pallete, using only black, white, and red to tell a story of two lovers represented by the metaphor of two swans. This idea came about after finding a very kitsch ceramic pair of swans. The idea that swans mate for life was the trigger for this metaphor, that we as people could be jealous of the bond these creatures share, and that in the end we crave to be swans, in a lover’s mime.
