‘The Road Home’

Zimbabwean folk tales juxtaposed against the decline of the road systems as a metaphor for the state of the country.

This project titled ‘The Road Home’ was one of the final pieces I created for my BA Graphic Design course. The project uses traditional Zimbabwean folklore to tell a story of the decline of the road systems in Zimbabwe due to political corruption.

This project was part of the International Society for Typographic Designer’s (ISTD). So the brief gave us a goal of a project that took a major focus in typography.

I often use images in my work and so took a different route by creating my own textures to replace the images, and tell a story about the decline in road systems.
